Porto Cristo

The town and resort of Porto Cristo is about a 15 - 20 min walk away from the Apartment. It is a medium size town with a restaurants, bars, a beach and various other tourist attractions and water sports.

The focus of Porto Cristo is it's natural harbour, which is one of the largest along the east coast. Over the years it has provided a safe mooring for fishing boats and an ever increasing number of leisure craft.

Porto Cristo The old harbor of Manacor is a typical mallorcan fisherman's village and, especially in summer, a preferred excursion place and seaside resort. The picturesque village is in a protected bay with sandy beach and offers all you need for an eventful stay. There is the seaside promenade, marina with restaurants and bars, shops and boutiques along the streets. Behind the promenade are the big shady plaza and the green boulevard (direction Cala Millor). Cycling paths take you north and south from Porto Cristo. There is the Club Nautico (a boat club) with restaurant, bar and pool. The beach has sand and rocks to swim, snorkel and dive. At the south entrance of Porto Cristo are the most famous stalactite caves, the "Cuevas del Drach" with the biggest known subterranean lake.  Next to the caves is the Acuario de Mallorca, with 115 windows showing an under water world. North of Porto Cristo is the drive-in safari park, where you can watch free walking wild animals. Not far away is the parrot's park, always worth a visit

Bars and Restaurants

Porto Cristo is still primarily a fishing port. As a result, there are a number of very good seafood restaurants around the marina area. Club Nautico is probably one of the best, but it is a little pricey and is best suited for a special occasion.

Running along the length of the marina is a strip of bars and clubs, but many are only open at the weekend when the locals descend on the resort, so things have a very Spanish atmosphere.
